A Beautiful Heist
A Beautiful Heist is the debut novel by Kim Foster. It's a quick read with fun characters and lots of theft. Cat is a jewel thief. She works for a company who hire her out to steal valuable pieces of jewelry from rich people. She has known since she was little that she has a gift for theft. She also holds a deep down secret about her sister and the debt she feels she owes. This is a major driving force behind why she keep stealing. I really liked Cat. She is a great thief but she is a little flighty. She doesn't pay taxes for years because she assumes she needed to keep her pay a secret. Even though the company give her W-2 forms every year. She also manages to get herself into some amusing situations. I laughed out loud at the golf tournament scene. I liked the theft scenes. Those were exciting and had me holding my breath, especially the final scene on top of Big Ben. I also liked the little twist in the end.
My only wish was that we got to see more of Jack and Cat together. This is the first in a series, so hopefully, their relationship will be explored a little more in the next book. I definitely recommend this book. It's a fun read and one worth checking out!
